This week on FaceBookIt, we’re taking the pinks out for Christmas!
I am recreating the cover of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I received word from one of our readers requesting I do this book next. Challenge accepted!

I always start with the eyes because cleaning up is easier, especially when dealing with eyeshadow fallout. I primed my eyes with Benefit Stay Don’t Stray primer and packed Toasted from the Naked palette on my mobile lids. Toasted is a shimmery medium pink-brown shade that I like to foil to amp the color. Foiling is a technique that involves applying the eyeshadow wet to create a shiny, foil-like effect. Because Toasted is not a pigment/loose eyeshadow, what I do is get some on my brush and then spritz some MAC Fix+ on to the brush. I then switched to a blending brush and put a tiny bit of Hustle, also form the Naked palette, on the crease. I added a bit of Corrupt on the outer v for definition. To brighten up the eyes, I placed some Bootycall eyeshadow on the inner corners.

Next, I tightlined using K-Palette 1Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eye Pencil in Super Black. To mirror the lid situation, I put Hustle and Corrupt in the outer third of the lower lash line and Toasted in the inner corners. I curled my lashes and put on Covergirl LashBlast Lengthening Mascara on the upper and lower lashes. I really don’t consider myself an expert when it comes to falsies but feel free to put a pair or individuals if you like to.

Once the eye makeup is done, you can go ahead and do your brows or face. I do my brows last because it takes me quite a bit to shape it to my liking.
For my face, I used the Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Let’s Make It Last Primer and Mineral Loose Foundation in Cafe Mocha. The concealer I used for this look is Benefit Fake Up in 02 Medium. To look slightly flushed with love (not anger towards my ex-lover(s), lol) I put on Luminous Flush on the apples of the cheeks and on the lips I put on My First Kiss. To brighten up the face, you can contour and highlight. I used The Balm Bahama Mama to contour and Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight to highlight.

That’s FaceBookIt Look #3! Doable, right?
I know this FOTD involves a lot of pinks in it—eyes, cheeks, lips—and pink might seem like a threatening shade to some of you especially when you’re only starting with makeup or you are fond of using neutrals. Pink is a friendly color, I think? It reminds me of something fun that I should be looking forward to. That’s just me, though! What is the general consensus on the color pink, anyway?
Anyway, the thing with makeup is it’s temporary. You can remove it and change it up if you aren’t feeling it. Live by Peter “He Deserves Background Music” Kavinsky’s words:
“Just roll with it and let it happen.”
What books do you want me to recreate next? And how are guys finding this series? Have you read this book? What did you think of it? If you did, WHAT IS THAT CLIFFHANGER, RIGHT? Let us know in the comments below or tag us on Facebook and Instagram.
