Last Book Syndrome: ‘If I Stay’ by Gayle Forman

by Clarissa Chua

The book we’re featuring today is from one of my favorite authors, and also the first book I read electronically. Honestly, I’ve never been a huge fan of ebooks because I feel that the essence of a book gets lost—the flipping of the pages, the smell of it, putting a bookmark in place—the little things. In fact, the number of e-books I’ve read can be counted on one hand. And believe me when I say that it takes a really, really good e-book for me to be able to overcome my finickiness.

This is also the first duology that I’ve read. If you count back, that’s actually a lot of firsts for me! That’s probably why I love this book so much – it holds so many experiences of mine that can never be taken by another book. Huwaw, hugot much? And for more hugot, here’s the quote from If I Stay by Gayle Forman (which has a movie now, by the way).
